    How rent-a-car works

    Car rental can be booked from our website at all hours.

    1. Booking

    Decide on a plan, and make a booking by phone or through our website request form.
    We offer free shuttle bus service to a desired location (airport, station etc.) within our service area from 8:00 to 20:00.

    2. Day of Pick-up

    Please come to our sales office to pick up the car.

    For customers who wish to use the shuttle bus service from Naha Airport
    Please wait at 'Car rental depot 14'.
    After arriving at Naha Airport, exit the arrival lobby and go outside.
    The car rental shuttle bus depot is located across the road.

    For customers who wish to use the shuttle bus service from Ishigaki Airport
    After arriving at the airport, collect your baggage, and exit the arrival lobby.
    The car rental shuttle bus depot is on the right hand side across the road.

    For customers who wish to use the shuttle bus service from Miyako Airport
    For customer using Miyakojima branch. Our staff is holding sign, which is written as Luft Travel Rent a Car at arrival area on your arrival.



    3. Contract

    Payment
    An estimated amount in accordance with the agreement will be paid at the time of pick-up, and additional fees will be offset when you return the car.

    5. Return

    Fill the tank at a gas station near the sales office and return the car by the designated time.
    Please let us know if you cannot arrive on time.

    Important Information Regarding Use

    When a traffic accident occurs

    * If there are any injured people, provide aid to those people first.
    * Report the accident to the police and the car rental sales office regardless of its scale.

    • Accidents at night or outside of business hours
      • Traffic accident: Report to the police.
      • Breakdown: Request repair at the nearest gas station or use JAF service. (Contact the sales office the next morning.)
    • Accidents caused by the following factors will be attributable to customers.
      • Dangerous driving including drunk driving and speed violation.
      • Negligence of reporting the accident (to the police and sales office).
      • Driving by an unauthorized person.
      • Accidents that have occurred after not having returned the car at the agreed time without notifying the sales office. (Therefore, it is important that you contact us beforehand if you think you are going to be late for the time of return.)
      • Breach of the Rental Agreement or automobile insurance policy.
      • Cost for repair / replacement of flat / burst tires shall be paid by the customer.

    * The vehicle should be handled with due care and in the good faith since the rented vehicle is placed under the care of the user during the rental period.

    Insurance coverage and cost borne by the customer in the case of a traffic accident

    Insurance coverage and cost borne by the customer in the case of a traffic accident are as follows.

    • Cost borne by the customer in the case of a traffic accident: Our rental vehicles are covered by insurance up to the amounts listed below. However, costs shall be borne by the customer if the accident falls in the scope of immunity under the insurance policy.
    • Bodily injury liability coverage: Unlimited
    • Property damage liability coverage: Unlimited (Excess: 50,000 yen)
    • Rented vehicle damage liability coverage: Market value (Car-to-car)
    • (Excess: 50,000 yen per occurrence)
    • Personal injury protection coverage: 30 million yen per person

    * insurance coverage be invalidated if the accident falls in the scope of immunity under the insurance policy.
    If a customer causes an accident, the customer shall pay any costs exceeding the aforementioned limit of coverage, plus the excess on the property damage liability coverage (50,000 yen), the excess on the vehicle damage liability coverage (50,000 yen), and a Non-Operation Charge (see the next section).

    Non-Operation Charge

    This is a charge paid by the customer to compensate for loss of use in the event the customer causes an accident and the vehicle needs to be repaired. The charges are fixed regardless of the degree of damage or time required.

    • If the rented vehicle is returned to the office (still mobile) 20,000 yen
    • If the rented vehicle is not returned to the office (immobile) 50,000 yen
    Premium Car Rental Protection. → Drivers must be 26 years old.

    In the event of a car accident, the NOC coverage of 1,080 yen per day will be able to exempt you for all the following compensation.

    Bodily injury.

    • Non-operation charges.
    • Vehicle lifting from sea bed.
    • Cancellation charges.
    • Crane charges free of charges up to 180 km.
    • Replacement and repairing of tire up to 20,000 yen
    • Battery charges up to 10,000 yen.
    • Excess one hour charges. (within our official operation hour)

    * Cases in which insurance coverage is invalidated

    • An accident caused by speeding and there is evidence of violating the speed limit.
    • An accident caused by overtaking in a no-overtaking lane.
    • An accident caused by ignoring a traffic light.
    • Damage to the luggage compartment of a truck or accessory parts of a special-purpose vehicle.
    • An accident caused by ignoring a stop sign.
    • An accident caused by making an illegal right turn or U-turn.
    • An accident caused by the driver's use of mobile phone while driving.

    * Please be sure to report the accident to the police and the sales office even in the case of a self-inflicted accident.
    * Please contact the sales office within business hours. (8:00 to 20:00)

    Extending the rental period
    • Contact our sales office promptly when you cannot return the vehicle at the time set out in the agreement.
    • We will charge a prescribed excess hour fee for approved extensions of rental period.
    • Measures provisioned in Article 28 will be taken in case of failure to return the vehicle at the time set out in the agreement without our approval. Please note that the customer will be liable for damages caused owing to the above.

    * Traffic jam can be expected depending on the time and place. Please arrive in sufficient time so that you will not miss your flight.
